european economics will take part in the GQIG Quantum Infra Summit EU 2026, taking place at imec headquarters in Leuven, Belgium, on 1 and 2 October 2026.

Held under the theme “Computing & Secured Networks For The Next Era of Global Power”, the summit brings together executives, investors, policymakers and technical experts from the global quantum ecosystem. Organised by the GQIG (Global Quantum Infrastructure Group) and hosted by imec, a leading research centre in nanoelectronics and digital technologies, the event gathers senior leaders from companies including IBM, IQM, Pasqal, Rigetti, Atom Computing and Quantum Motion.

The 2026 edition focuses on the key levers for scaling up quantum technologies: quantum architectures and networks, the industrialisation of manufacturing in Europe, enabling technologies (cryogenics, control systems, interconnects) and policy leadership among Europe’s quantum nations.

Unlocking Public Funding for Strategic Quantum R&D&I Projects

Quantum technologies are emerging as a major priority of Europe’s industrial and technological sovereignty agenda. This momentum is reinforced by the IPCEI Quantum, currently under discussion between the European Commission and the Member States, which is expected to support highly ambitious cross-border R&D&I projects across quantum computing, communication, sensing and enabling infrastructure.

The presentation by our CEO and Founder will provide a practical introduction to the IPCEI Quantum: eligibility criteria, application process and State aid regulatory framework, and its relevance for companies building Europe’s quantum ecosystem.

At the heart of quantum technology funding in Europe

european economics is a consulting firm specialising in the public funding of strategic industrial projects in Europe. Since 2018, the firm has supported 151 projects across 14 IPCEIs in 13 Member States, helping to secure 16 billion euros in State aid approved by the European Commission.

Our participation in the GQIG Quantum Infra Summit EU 2026 comes at a time of growing momentum for public funding instruments dedicated to strategic technologies, in particular the IPCEI Quantum, currently under discussion between the European Commission and the Member States.
