European Chips Act: Build Your Own Pillar 2

european economics successfully hosted its conference on the European Chips Act on Thursday, 6th June 2024 in Paris. The event was a significant gathering of key stakeholders from the microelectronics industry, focusing on the European Chips Act’s Pillar 2 framework.
The European Chips Act, introduced in 2022, serves as a comprehensive roadmap aimed at bolstering the semiconductor industry within the European Union. Coordinated by the European Commission, in collaboration with Member States and industry leaders, the Act seeks to reduce the EU’s dependence on Asian chip supplies. The strategy is built upon three pillars, with Pillar 2 specifically addressing Member States’ funding for expanding manufacturing capacities.
This conference was geared toward the microelectronics industry players seeking public funding to enhance their manufacturing capabilities. The primary goal was to share essential information about the regulatory framework, key players and to discuss public funding opportunities for the Pillar 2 of the European Chips Act.
The conference offered a unique platform to engage directly with industry leaders, share insights, and explore collaboration opportunities.
european economics, leveraging its extensive experience and expertise in managing microelectronics projects with over €8 billion in public support, provided valuable guidance to participants on navigating the funding landscape.
