european economics participated in the 9th European Nuclear Industry Congress (ENIC 2024), held in Paris from 16 to 18 September 2024, engaging directly with senior stakeholders to promote innovation and resilience across Europe’s nuclear power sector.

With nuclear energy now formally recognised as a strategic technology at EU level, our presence at ENIC 2024 reflected our active commitment to supporting the sector’s long-term development. This includes advising on public funding mechanisms, enabling cross-border partnerships, and contributing to major national goals such as France’s plan to build 14 new nuclear reactors and the United Kingdom’s ambition to reach 24 GW of nuclear capacity by 2050.

The congress brought together key players from across the nuclear value chain to address challenges and opportunities in areas such as new build programmes, life extension of existing reactors, decommissioning strategies, and technological innovation, including the growing role of Small Modular Reactors (SMRs).

For european economics, ENIC 2024 was a valuable opportunity to engage with industry trends, connect with policymakers and private sector leaders, and explore emerging funding instruments for nuclear projects under European and national frameworks.

As Europe pursues energy security, decarbonisation, and industrial competitiveness, european economics remains fully committed to supporting the nuclear sector’s sustainable growth through targeted advisory, policy insight, and funding expertise.
